Carol Lavers

Carol Pinto is an award-winning educator, TEDx speaker, and founder of Aspire Training Academy. After immigrating to Canada, Carol learned about the challenges faced by the Indigenous people, and promptly moved to Behchokǫ̀ as a volunteer. After learning more from this position and having worked closely with a group of outstanding Indigenous women, she decided to focus her energy toward setting up a Not-For-Profit organization focused exclusively on education. Carol lives by the words of Nelson Mandela: ‘education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’. Carol is dedicated, as the lead educator, to helping the people of our communities change their story with the power of education.

Jamie Lavers
Co-Founder & Curriculum Consultant

Jamie is a passionate educator, founder of Aspire Training Academy, and a true product of the north. Jamie has called the north home for 21+ years and has served as an educator in many of its schools. Jamie’s experience and northern upbringing has moved him toward service in the Not-For-Profit sector, and has fostered a strong will to help the communities and people of the north. Jamie is committed to, and motivated by, the Aspire mission and values which guide the team toward their goals of education and equal opportunity for all people across the north.
